Advanced Technology International to Manage Space Enterprise Consortium

Charleston, SC – Advanced Technology International (ATI) signed a five year, $100,000,000 Other Transaction Agreement with the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center to manage the Space Enterprise Consortium (SpEC) on November 2.

Under this award, ATI will build and manage a partnership of small and large businesses, non-profit organizations and academic research institutions in designing and building innovative prototypes for critical space-related technologies. SpEC’s mission is to deliver prototype solutions for new mission payloads (e.g., weather, sensors, communications, etc.) ground support systems, launch support systems, and related software to government customers within the Department of Defense.

ATI will manage SpEC from its headquarters near Charleston, SC, in coordination with the Space and Missile Systems Center, located at the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA.

“ATI is delighted to be a part of this effort to procure relevant space-related technologies,” said ATI President, Chris Van Metre. “We’re eager to bring our consortium management expertise to this endeavor through our work with the Space and Missile Systems Center and the SpEC membership.”

All private sector for-profit, not-for-profit, and academic research institutions having capabilities in any of the technology domains listed above are encouraged to signal their interest in joining SpEC by contacting Stacey Lindbergh at SpEC-cm@ati.org.
