ATI Announces 2014 PDES, Inc. Award

Bryan K. Martin Technical Excellence Award to Robert Lipman of NIST

Charleston, SC – ATI’s PDES, Inc. consortium today announced the annual Bryan K. Martin Technical Excellence Award winner. The 2014 award was presented to Robert Lipman of NIST at the Spring PDES, Inc.

Offsite Meeting held in Gaithersburg, Md. Lipman is a member of the Computer Aided ‘X’ Implementor Forum (CAx-IF) and the LOng Term Archiving and Retrieval (LOTAR) programs for PDES, Inc. Lipman’s technical and leadership contributions in support of both the CAx-IF and LOTAR have been significant. He is involved with the Computer Aided Design software community to ensure the quality of products and has significant impacts on industry. A valued member of both the CAx-IF and LOTAR, Lipman has put a considerable amount of work and effort into the STEP File Analyzer program.

“Since joining PDES, Inc. CAx-IF, Bob has had a huge impact on the successful development of STEP-based commercial software,” said Dr. Michael R. Jahadi, President and Chairman of the PDES, Inc. Board. “He has played a leading role in accelerating the development and implementation of advanced capabilities in support of Model Based Manufacturing.”

The PDES, Inc. Executive Board established the Bryan K. Martin Technical Excellence Award in memory of Bryan K. Martin, whose exceptional record of strong leadership and tireless work helped to achieve PDES, Inc. goals. The Board presents this award annually to a PDES, Inc. member who has demonstrated superior technical contributions to the program.
