Program Facilitates Collaboration of Armament Research and Technology
Summerville, SC – ATI today announced that the National Armaments Consortium (NAC) has elected two new Executive Committee members, Joe Buzzett and Kurt Oschman. The Consortium has also re-elected Rollie Dohrn, Jr. and Dr. Eric Boyer for terms effective October 1, 2015.
Buzzett, Director of Technology Programs at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, joins the Executive Committee as a representative of the Large Business class. Buzzett has over 25 years of experience as an engineer, program manager and senior executive on Department of Defense armaments Research Development Test and Evaluation programs and currently oversees the Independent Research and Development and Contract Research and Development activities. Buzzett currently serves on the National Defense Industrial Association’s Guns, Armaments, Rockets and Missiles Executive Steering Committee, the Industrial Advisory Board for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Advisory Council for the U.S. Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center. He holds a patent for an advanced kinetic energy tank ammunition concept.
Oschman, President and CEO of MS Technology, joins the Executive Committee as a representative of the Small Business class. He has over 30 years of experience leading engineering, homeland security, training and environmental service organizations. He is currently responsible for leading MS Technology, a full service engineering and technology firm that is the world leader in the design and delivery of metal melters and casters using microwave technology. Oschman has served on the several boards including: the Appalachian Chapter of the American Red Cross, the East Tennessee Economic Council and the Purdue University Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences Department Advisory Board.
Dohrn, Director of Advanced Programs at Alliant Techsystems Inc.’s Armament Systems Division, has been re-elected for a second term as a representative of the Large Business Class. He has over 20 years of armament development expertise specifically in the areas of fuzing and weapons systems.
Boyer, representing The Pennsylvania State University, has been re-elected for a third term as the representative of the Academic class. Boyer has extensive experience in aerospace engineering, specifically the testing and safe operation of rockets, and has contributed to the consortium’s successes since 2012.
