Wide-Area Situational Awareness Software Helps Coordinate Multiple Agencies

For the second year, ATI’s wide-area situational awareness software, Alastar, was utilized during the Cooper River Bridge Run to ensure emergency personnel had a complete and accurate picture of activities occurring before, during and after the race.

The 38th annual event brought nearly 40,000 participants from Mount Pleasant, S.C. to downtown Charleston, S.C. on March 28. Multiple public safety agencies monitored all aspects of the event from a Unified Command Center using ATI’s Alastar software.

This year Alastar debuted a new live streaming video feature. With this new feature, officers were able to use their phones or tablets to stream video back to the command center. This live streaming video feature enhances Alastar’s real-time ability to coordinate multiple jurisdictions and disciplines, and ultimately better protect lives and property.

Alastar was developed in collaboration with the 23 participating agencies in the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center, as part of ATI’s continued involvement in Homeland Security efforts. Through ATI’s extensive capabilities in public safety systems architecture and software development, ATI has delivered systems that collect, manage and securely share information in a broad range of areas, including coordination of first responders, port security, law enforcement and defense-related eCommerce.
